The Riyadh Green Project is a key environmental initiative launched by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City Development. The project aims to increase green spaces in the city, reduce temperatures, and improve the overall quality of life for residents. Central to the project is the construction of a treated water pipeline that extends from Al-Orouba Park in central Riyadh, passing through major districts such as Al-Ra’id, King Saud University, and Al-Khozama, finally reaching Wadi Hanifa.

The total length of the pipeline is approximately 11 kilometers, constructed with carbon steel pipes that are internally and externally insulated to protect against environmental factors and maintain water quality. The pipe diameters range from 1300 mm, 1600 mm, to 1800 mm, depending on the segment and area it crosses.

This project is part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing Riyadh’s infrastructure and expanding green areas to combat climate challenges. The planted green spaces help reduce the city’s heat impact, while the treated water pipeline ensures the necessary irrigation for these areas, promoting environmental sustainability.

The Riyadh Green Project exemplifies the city’s commitment to sustainable development and integrated urban planning, marking a significant step toward a greener and more livable Riyadh.
